We are delighted to present the March Alert Auction.

The sale includes a collection of art work on behalf of The Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Mr. Richard Ball, who has kindly instructed us sell paintings and prints to raise money for two important Plymouth charities, Help for Heroes Recovery Centre in HMS Drake and Friends of St Andrews Minster, please see lots 140 to 157.

If you are attending the sale you may register to bid when you come along to the saleroom or in advance by email. You may be asked for ID. This can be done on the viewing days or by 5pm on sale day.

If you wish to bid Live Online you will need to register to use this service at www.the-saleroom.com . Please be aware that this attracts an additional 5% plus vat fee.

93 Robert Lenkiewicz (1941-2002) 'Blind Tobit looking at the Angel', Project 21, oil on canvas signed and titled verso framed and glazed, 49cm x 59cm. Project 21 was a small project of paintings painted blind. Tobit is usually presented as an allegory of faith persisting through poverty and misfortune, most famously by Rembrandt in the National Gallerys Anna and the Blind Tobit (1630). In his Blind Tobit, Lenkiewicz tried to detach his mark-making from a lifetime of acquired skill by painting blindfolded in a specially prepared studio. £800 - 1000 Click to view larger size image
