SOLD £650 WILLIAM PEARN oil on canvas 'SS Newbiggin of Newcastle, Captain Upson', signed, 80cm x 112cm including frame, the painting shows the Jane Ann of Fowey and the SS Newbiggin alongside. Also W.Roach's carrier carts and ofice siognage painted from the sit of the railway turntable. The SS Newbiggin was in service from 1883 , steaming at full speed in fog she collided with and sank the SS City of Rotterdam near the Eddystone in June 1900 bringing survivors back to Plymouth.
