Local Art at Plymouth Auction Rooms

It is mid-January, we are in lockdown, the weather is grey and wet; we are in need of something to brighten us up! How about the colourful artwork of Devon artist Gordon Barker. His charming naïve paintings bring instance warmth and a smile to your face. Gordon, whose published work can often be found on greeting cards, has been busy over lockdown preparing six works for the next Contemporary Art Auction at Plymouth Auction Rooms.

The paintings include titles such as ‘The Big Game’, ‘Seaside Holidays’, ‘Snowy Fireworks’ and ‘A Shot at Goal’. They each feature Gordon’s trademark, with two black cats and one brown and a little dog with four white paws somewhere in the images, giving the collector something to look out for.

The acrylic paintings measure 29cm x 39cm and carry estimates from just £100, these could be the perfect antidote for the lockdown glooms!

“We are delighted to present these original works at our March Art Auction. They really brighten the sale up and I am sure may prove to be a good choice of investment” – Auctioneer, Paul Keen

Auction 24th March, further details online now.
