A Victorian Orphenion walnut table polyphon music box. Considered the very best table music boxes to come out of Germany. This Orphenion dates late 1890’s/1900. This non coin operated suggests it was a centre piece in a private house. Thought to be built in Leipzig where most music box/Polyphons were manufactured. Overall size: 70.5cm x 51cm x 26cm.This Orphenion has been completely overhauled by music box engineer. Construction: Wood, metal, carpentry and mechanical work. Comes with marriage table and numerous discs. Purchased in Germany from a dealer who has all his pieces striped and re-built. All teeth on coombs.

A German Kalliope coin operated Polyphon music player, overall dimensions: 212cm x 63.5cm x 46cm, with disc bin and numerous discs. During 1890’s and early 1900’s the Kalliopi produced a range of music boxes, they are regarded as having excellent tonal quality. This particular Kalliope with by virtue of the 5 Pfennig coin in the slot possibly means this piece was installed in a bar/novelty shop somewhere in Germany. Purchased by the seller in Germany from a dealer who had piece striped and rebuilt. In perfect working order, all teeth on coombs.

The walnut cabinet with original Adler etched glass door. This Adler having a 5 Pfennig coin in slot to operate suggests that it was possibly installed in a bar/novelty shop in Germany. Purchased by the owner in Germany from a dealer who had the piece striped down and re-built. In perfect working order with all teeth on coombs.
