Busy fortnight ahead at Plymouth Auction Rooms

It is a busy fortnight ahead at Plymouth Auction Rooms, with two auctions and a special evening viewing bringing together antiques, collectables, jewellery and watches.

First under the hammer is the Antiques, Silver & Collectables Auction on Tuesday 22 September, which includes two objects with an interesting recent connection to BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.

Both were taken to the programme’s valuation event at Dartington earlier this year. Among them is a colourful art pottery vase which was examined and valued by ceramics expert Eric Knowles, together with a Chinese bronze censer of traditional form, surmounted by a mythical beast and with dragon handles.

Elsewhere in the auction are an impressive gilt and enamel mantel clock, an unusual Royal Coat of Arms and a varied selection of ceramics, silver and collectables.

Attention then turns to jewellery and watches, with Plymouth Auction Rooms opening its doors for a special evening viewing on Thursday 24 September, from 6pm–8pm.

The evening offers visitors an opportunity to view and try on pieces ahead of the Fine Jewellery & Watches Auction on Wednesday 30 September at 6pm.

The specialist sale features a carefully selected collection of jewellery and watches, ranging from antique and period pieces through to contemporary designs, with viewing available in the saleroom ahead of the auction.

Both auctions will take place at Plymouth Auction Rooms, with catalogues available online.
