“We are valuing an incredible amount of fascinating collectors’ items, works of art, antiques and jewellery from homes across Devon & Cornwall” enthuse the team at Plymouth Auction Rooms. Many collections have now been catalogued ready for auction with the first of a brace of auctions starting on 9th June.
Here collectors can bid for silver, Swarovski, diecast models, model railway, carnival glass, Asian works of art, a huge stamp collection and antique furniture.
Fans of the 1980s Manchester indie band The Smiths will have the rare opportunity to bid for a collection of almost 100 lots. This nostalgic collection is the result of years of collecting by one Devon man and includes original press and concert posters, ticket stubs, tour programmes, prints and other promotional material.
Auctioneer Paul Keen says “this a great collection and should appeal to the many of us who continue to enjoy the music of what was probably the most important band to emerge from the British indie music scene of the 1980s”.
The same collector will also be selling his collection of vintage and modern James Bond movie film posters including a full set of six film posters for ‘No Time To Die’ which will be in the cinemas in September, hopefully!
There are several lots of silver in the sale including a stylish Art Nouveau centrepiece by Edward & Sons of Glasgow, height 20cm, also a neat Bath Arts & Crafts stem dish by Helen Holmes (Lot 237 & 238)
This eclectic auction can now be viewed online and bidders are welcome back into the saleroom to bid as well as online. You can view the Catalogues here:
