Old typed label attached on reverse reads ‘by Jacopo Marieschi (1711-1794) from the collection of G.P. Dudley Wallis Esq the late curator Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, purchased January 22nd 1945’, the frame with a paper label marked J. A Butti, manufactured Edinburgh.
