Time to Bid – Rare Rolex Watches at Plymouth Auction Rooms
Over 200 lots of fine jewellery and watches will be coming up for auction this month at Plymouth Auction Rooms. Why not take some time over the Easter weekend to browse through the collection on offer. With values ranging from just £100 to many thosands, there is plenty of pieces to suit all budgets and tastes. For the watch connoisseur take a look at the three headline lots, all Rolex models. Lot 201 is a very rare 1967 gents Submariner, model 5513. This watch is particularly appealing with its painted ‘tropic’ dial. Similar models have sold for into five figures at these salerooms, so an estimate of £14,ooo to £15,000 is advised.
More recent is the 2019 Oyster Perpetual Submariner (Lot 203), model 116610 with a dive depth of 300 metres. In very nice condition it may prove a good investment with a guide price at just £6,000 to £7,000. Equally rare and collectable, is Lot 204, the Explorer model dating from the 1960’s, with an estimate of £3,000 to £4,000. These watches do not appear at auction often, and the Explorer represents the timepieces worn in 1953, from the first successful ascent of Everest.
The auction features many other collectable watches, including Breitling and Omega. All lots are online now here.
