Competitive Bidding for Lots

Auctioneer Paul Keen was delighted with the results at this month's jewellery and watch auction at Plymouth Auction Rooms, "it was great to receive bids from so many new bidders and collectors both in the Saleroom and online across the UK and overseas".

There were many lots selling for over £1,000 and some of the highlights include Lot 69, an 18ct white gold ring set with a brilliant round cut diamond, approximately 2.20 carats. As expected, there was plenty of competition for this gem and it sold to a London buyer for £5,800.

A few lots later, Lot 71, an 18ct white gold bracelet set with approx. 5.10 carats was one of several 'tennis' bracelets sold at these rooms this year and made £2,700.

Stud earrings of good diamond weight are always popular, and Lot 78 was no exception. Weighing approximately 2.00 carats, the pair set in white gold attracted a lot of pre-sale attention, and the hammer finally went down at £3,600.

A fine Art Deco brooch set with around 3 carats of old cut diamonds looked impressive in the catalogue and collectors agreed, with a local bidder paying £2,700 to secure it.

The watch section at the Salerooms is always popular, underpinned by Rolex's. The 2020 well kept Datejust and the 2019 Rolex Wimbledon watches proved popular, selling for £6,200 and £8,600 each.
