Traditionally the Summer months can be quieter in the salerooms, but the team in Plymouth have been kept busy with a host of antiques and collectables consigned to the Summer Auction in August. many objects have come from a home in Plymouth, including a collection of Asian bronze sculptures depicting various Hindu deities and buddhas, these speculative works of art are expected to attract a lot of interest. A collection of Victorian oil lamps from the same home include pretty coloured shades and reservoirs on original ornate brass columns. These lamps will look great in a contemporary home so expect a lot of competition at the auction.
This 400-lot auction will include Lalique and Swarovski glassware, a lifetimes collection of 100 pieces of 19th century blue and white transfer printed chinaware, mainly by Masons Ironstone, a Plymouth grandfather clock dating from 1790, a childhood collection of Dinky and Corgi toys, and a whole host of antique silver.
The auction will take place on the 17th August at the Saleroom of Plymouth Auction Rooms. Browse the catalogue here, and read more on our Case Studies here.
