Going, Going, Gone…!

Press Release

Demand for fine jewellery and watches continues to rise, reports Paul Keen of Plymouth Auction Rooms.

“Our high grossing sale last week was a testament to the work of our valuers and the entry of quality diamond jewellery and luxury watches”.

Many sellers from Devon and Cornwall were delighted with the results achieved at the evening sale. Bidders were online from as far as the USA, France and Italy. The three headliner lots, all large 4.00 carat diamond rings, found buyers. The Plymouth seller of Lot 69 was as delighted as the Plymouth buyer when it sold for £9,000. Lot 149 was in higher demand and fetched £14,500, whilst a family heirloom from the South Hams, an old European cut diamond, sold at £9,200.

The sale featured many engagement rings, eternity rings and bracelets, which sold over and above estimate. Including Lot 11, a neat diamond bracelet which made £3,300, and Lot 92 an Art Deco style ring sold for £5,200.

The trend for watches remains upwards, with the owner from Wales, of Lot 199 a 1986 Rolex Sea-Dweller, delighted to hear it sold for £12,500.

The cataloguers are once again busy at the saleroom, with a brace of auctions coming up in August and September. Head online for more information, or call 01752 254740.
