Rare set of autographs from the Fab Four

“I read the news today….” It’s a throw back to 1963, with a rare set of autographs from the Fab Four coming up for auction in Plymouth next month.

Over 60 years ago ‘Christine’, aged just 14 went to Wakefield ABC to see The Beatles, who were on tour with Helen Shapero. She was lucky enough to get their autographs and experience first hand the inception of Beatlemania.

This popular UK tour was just before they jetted of to the states, during the very early days of the band. The autographs, along with other music memorabilia from that time have been treasured for over half a century, and have now been inherited within the family. Although tired and bound in Sellotape, they are expected to attract national interest when they come up for auction next month in Plymouth.

The family hope that they will be sold to a serious collector of Beatle memorabilia, and they can then be handed down through the next generation of keen music fans. For those that may not know the autographs are John Lennon, Ringo Star, Paul McCartney and George Harrison.

This exciting lot is coming up in the next Antiques & Collectables Auction on the 10th October. Bids are expected in the region of £2,000. For any enquiries or to consign your own music memorabilia, please get in touch with the team on 01752 254740 or feel free to fill out our valuation form.
