Beryl Cook ‘Sailors & Seagulls’

Sold for: £20,000 + fees

Beryl Cook (1926-2008), an original oil on board, ‘Sailors and Seagulls’, circa 1970, signed lower right, the dog’s name ‘Bozo’, in a wood frame, overall size 62.5cm x 83cm. Provenance: acquired directly from Beryl Cook circa 1970’s.

‘Sailors and Seagulls’, featuring Beryl Cook’s own dog ‘Bozo’, was probably inspired by seeing Sailors around Plymouth Hoe, near where Cook lived.
