A fine painting by Robert Lenkiewicz has returned to Plymouth after almost 30 years. Painted around 1990 is ‘The Painter with Patti’, a large scale portrait of the artist with Patti upon his shoulders. This stunning work of art was featured at the Birmingham ICC Exhibition, hosted by the Halcyon Gallery back in 1994, and was painted as part of the Project 18 Relationship Series ‘Painter with Women’. The theme of the painting is based on the medieval tale of Phyllis and Aristotle, about the triumph of a seductive woman, Phyllis, over the greatest male intellect, the ancient Greek philosopher.
This impressive artwork was featured at the Birmingham ICC Exhibition hosted by the Halcyon Gallery back in 1994, and was sold shortly after. The painting, which was featured within the exhibition catalogue, has remained in the Cheshire area since. The owner has now decided to sell the painting, and recognised that Plymouth Auction Rooms have regular sales of the artists work. After being packaged and shipped to the Saleroom, it now takes centre stage for the upcoming Art Auction on the 25th May.
The guide price has been set at £10,000 to £15,000, and can be viewed by appointment at the Saleroom, for more details Call 01752 254740 or Email.
