Our Gemmologist and Jewellery Specialist, Tracey Still, gives her Focus on Five for our upcoming Jewellery Auction, happening on the 29th September.
‘With some 200 lots of fabulous rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings coming up for auction, I really am spoilt for choice’, enthuses Tracey.
I am a great admirer of vintage and antique jewellery, but also love the vibrancy of coloured stones and quality diamonds. So the first pick for my Focus on Five is Lot 54. A stunningly beautiful tanzanite and diamond ring, measuring approximately 3.35 carats, and packaged wonderfully in its original box. This is a ring you really need to see and try on, and with an estimate of £1,600 to £1,800 it is a real bargain!
The charm of Lot 13 caught my eye. The bright old cut diamonds and vintage setting are a real plus, and at just £300 to £500 who would not be interested.
I always find that blue zircon is very much underrated, and also quite affordable. As can be seen with Lot 26, an 18ct gold and platinum cluster ring set with approximately 1.67 carats of blue zircon in a diamond cluster, is expected to go for between £350 to £400. The bright colour will catch anyones eye when on the finger and should be on everyones auction wishlist.
No sale is complete without a diamond solitaire, and although not the most valuable one at the sale, I do like Lot 38. We have many private couples looking for engagement rings, and this one is perfect! It is bright, has good clarity, and most importantly is quite affordable at £1,500 to £1,600. Don’t miss out on bidding for this one!
Finally, with five diamond bracelets on offer, I have to pick one! And for me its go to be Lot 110, the Art Deco diamond line bracelet. Whilst cataloguing the auction I tried this gorgeous bracelet on, and with approximately 3.80 carats of old round cut diamonds, it looks fabulous on the wrist.
The auction will be held at our Saleroom in Plymouth on the 29th September.
The collection is on view by appointment, and the catalogue can be browsed online now.
I am looking forward to another exciting evening of sales at Plymouth Auction Rooms, and to seeing you all their bidding.
