A George I gold and black enamel skeleton memento mori ring, with raised coffin paste stone concealing a skeleton, and decorated around the band with skeleton motif, the shank interior inscribed ‘Tho’s Bond ob 19 April 1723’, size M, together with a copy of the Penn-Symons family lineage which can be traced back to William the Conquerer, containing the name of Mr Bond who was the father of the first wife of William Symons of Hatt and Broadmore, High Sheriff of Cornwall in the 18th century. The Penn-Symons family remained one of nobility in Cornwall at Hatt House. In 1915, William John Symons won the Victoria Cross for his service in Gallipoli. Consigned directly from the family.
