Sell your Watch The New Way

“Specialist items need to be in specialist sales.” Says Plymouth auctioneer Paul Keen, while sharing the news about his new Timed Watch Auction.

Press Release – August 2024

Here at Plymouth Auction Rooms, we have seen our watch sale develop over the last five years and have decided to make it a stand-alone auction. This will allow us time to put together collections that will enhance the experience of both the seller and buyer. With over 60 years’ experience between them, our team of valuers can confidently provide up to date valuations and advice based on years of industry knowledge.

Buyers will now have the luxury to bid over a two-week period with the new Timed Auction. This allows bidders to make a considered decision and follow bid patterns on watches of interest. Furthermore, bidders are constantly updated if they are out bid or when a new watch appears at the auction. Not sure how timed auctions work? Head over to our blog post detailing how to bid in a timed auction.

Paul says "We have had some super results for watches in Plymouth and wish to accommodate the increasing number of younger buyers entering the auction market. They are more familiar with the timed auction process and research has shown a higher volume of new bidders and stronger results for lots in timed auctions. Sellers can see their lots online and are able to consign items right up to the start date of the sale".

This is an exciting development at PAR, with the next Specialist Timed Watches Auction starting on 22nd November.

Selling with Plymouth Auction Rooms couldn’t be easier. Simply send images of your timepiece to info@plymouthauctions.co.uk or attend the upcoming valuation event with Watch Specialist, Richard Sheppard, who will be on hand to appraise your items on Monday 7th October at the saleroom. Please call 01752 254740 to book your appointment.
