A collection of paintings by water-colourist Terry McKivragan (1929 – 2012) will be coming up for sale at Plymouth Auction Rooms. The 15 works mainly feature fine views of London, several of which have been exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London. The influence of J.M.W.Turner is reminiscent through many of the works. McKivragan was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in watercolours, and also the Chelsea Art Society. He won the Best Acrylic Award at the Britain’s Painters, and the Hunting Prize, as well as exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. His work is still on show at various galleries across the UK.
The collection has been consigned by his son, and will be up for auction on the 16th March (Lots 87 – 99).
