Fine Jewellery Sparkles in Plymouth

Last month’s auction was a resounding success, once again placing Plymouth Auction Rooms as one of the Westcountry’s leading auction houses for fine jewellery and watches.

Auctioneer Paul Keen fielded bids from over 200 online and in-person bidders, who battled on a wealth of gems and collectable timepieces.

Without a doubt, the star of the show was the extraordinary diamond ring which had been in the same family since the 1960’s. After much attention in the lead up to the auction, the impressively weighted 5.5ct diamond was snapped up for a staggering £21,700 inc. premium to a keen telephone bidder.

Elsewhere in the sale, a beautiful sapphire and diamond bracelet found a new home for £8,400, and a charming Venetian bracelet enchanted the bidders for £3,200.

The watch section saw a near sell-out success, with notable highlights including a stunning ladies Rolex fetching over £5,000 after a bidding war in the saleroom.

Another timeless classic, a 1980’s gent’s steel & gold Rolex achieved a remarkable £5,520, reflecting it’s solid market appeal.

A welcome surprise to end the evening, a 1950’s Omega timepiece exceeded expectations by tripling it’s estimate! Selling for £2,400 after continued interest both locally and online.

The team are now accepting consignments for their next highly-anticipated Fine Jewellery & Watches Auction in June. For more information on buying and selling, please head to https://bid.plymouthauctions.co.uk/auctions
