A blast of colour will greet you as you enter the Saleroom to view the art auction in Plymouth next week. With a range of bright modern contemporary paintings and prints, including works by popular Westcountry artists Brian Pollard, Beryl Cook, Arth Lawr, and Gordon Barker, there is something for everyone. For enthusiasts of abstract art investments, there is a 1960’s painting by Plymouth artist Derek Holland. He was a member of the NSA from 1984 and also head of the art department at Plymouth College until 1973. Lot 168, although untitled, has bold colours and is typical of Holland’s earlier styles. Measuring at 122cm x 91cm, it is expected to sell for £400 to £600.
The collection of art can be viewed online and at the Saleroom, for further details head to the catalogue here, or call 01752 254740.
