Rare Beatrix Potter figure is expected to make hundreds of pounds at Plymouth Auctions.
‘The Duchess with Flowers’ is considered to be one of the most scarce and collectable figures produced by Beswick for Beatrix Potter. The striking 10cm jet black figure representing a Schipperke dog was created by Graham Orwell in 1955. It was discontinued in 1967. Beatrix Potter enthusiasts will know that the Duchess is featured in a number of books including ‘The Tale of the Pie and Patty Pan’ published by F. Warne & Co.
The figure has come to auction from a seller in Cornwall, it was spotted amongst other 20th century chinawares and has already attracted alot of online attention. It will be up for sale on 11th October (lot 218). Check out our online catalogue here
