The Collector’s Eye: Clocks, Art, and Antiques from the Nigel Trevelyan Collection
We are delighted to present for auction, on behalf of the Executors: The Nigel Trevelyan Collection of Cornish Grandfather Clocks, Dial and Carriage Clocks, Art, and Antiques.
Nigel Trevelyan was a well-respected auctioneer who conducted numerous sales across the West Country, including at his own saleroom. Over the years, he built an impressive collection of clocks. His charming home on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall was filled with treasures — including 22 longcase clocks, over 20 West Country watercolour paintings (featuring several Victorian works by W.H. Pike), as well as carriage clocks, dial clocks, pottery, and antique furniture.
This sale will be of particular interest to collectors and residents of Cornwall. The longcase clocks are by notable makers from across the region, including Truro, Falmouth, Redruth, Bodmin, St Erth, Marazion, St Austell, Helston, and even St Keverne.
The auction will take place at Plymouth Auction Rooms on Tuesday, 22nd July at 10:30am. The full catalogue is now being prepared, and will be available soon. For further details please call 01752 254740 or email info@plymouthauctions.co.uk to register your interest.
