From dustbin men to hen parties and caricatures of women jogging; Beryl Cook (1926-2008) had a skill of turning our everyday lives into humorous artwork. One of Plymouth’s most loved artists Beryl’s work never fails to make you smile and now there is a renewed interest amongst collectors eager to own a signed artwork.
Plymouth Auction Rooms have firmly established themselves as the ‘go to’ saleroom for Beryl Cook art, having sold several original paintings and hundreds of edition prints. Auctioneer Paul Keen “we love having Beryl’s pictures on display around the saleroom, everyone comments on them and discuss their favourites”.
