Yates Pictures Sell At Auction

A lady from West Yorkshire was having a sort out during lockdown and discovered two old paintings that have been left with her for some 20 years. Although not having any knowledge of the value or indeed the artist a quick Google search led her to Plymouth Auction Rooms.

The two paintings were signed by Fred Yates, and our history of achieving good prices was easily sourced online.

She then sent off images using our website valuation tool and our valuations of up to £1,000 each were well received. She carefully packaged them up and sent them to us for us to photograph, lot up, and promote online.

The two views of Paris, one showing the Arc de Triomphe and the other Notre Dame were quickly spotted by many collectors on our mailing list.

It was no surprise to us to see them raising £2520 (+fees) at the auction on the 24th of March.

The owner was absolutely delighted and it will help her with some family costs.
