Do Wrexham Football Caps Hold a Link to Hollywood Star?

Every now and then, items arrive at the saleroom that warrant a bit of investigating! Coming up for auction on the 23rd of May are two Wrexham football caps that may have a link to Hollywood Star, Ryan Reynolds.

Two football caps dated 1923-24 from Wrexham football club arrived at PAR for valuation, and upon closer inspection, the eagle-eyed valuer noticed the name handwritten on the inside ‘F. A Reynolds’.

It is possible that those two caps and the badge were from the Wrexham Association Football Club.  The dates coincide with the Welsh Cup.  The spooky thing is that Wrexham AFC was purchased in 2021 by the Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds. Wrexham AFC has one of the oldest teams in existence, and in the two years since being taken over, they’ve also become one of the most famous.  If there is a link, these caps could hold some value!

The caps will be coming up for auction in our next Antiques & Collectables Auction on Tuesday 23rd of May at 10:30 am.
