Freemason Regalia and Jewells from a Plymouth Dignitary
Coming up for auction at Plymouth Auction Rooms is a collection of Freemason medals and ceremonial paraphernalia of the late Thomas Savery.
Freeman Thomas Edward James Savery served Plymouth as Leader of the Council from 1987-1991, Shadow Leader from 1991-1997, and as Lord Mayor from 1999-2000. He dedicated his time in power to helping others as director of Plymouth College and St Dunstan Abbey Schools and Theatre Royal Plymouth, becoming an honorary Freeman in 1998.
This collection contains the many medals and ceremonial pieces of his position as Freeman and Master of the Plymothian and Mannameadian Lodge in 1967, his Freemasonry ceremony book and Devonshire Full Dress Set, as well as badges for The Sir Francis Drake Lodge and relating to Savery’s charitable efforts.
