Local collector outbids record number of online bidders to secure rare Rolex

A rare Rolex Submariner watch bought on the Falkland Islands in 1970 for just £47 attracted a record number of online bidders at the August sale. However, it was a determined Plymouth collector sitting in the saleroom that had the winning bid after he ‘fought off’ four telephone lines and a flurry of internet bids to secure the watch for a premium inclusive bid of £11,470.
