An English ebonised bracket clock, signed Tho (Thomas) Taylor, in Holborne, with eight day twin fusee movement, two bell strike on hammers, floral engraved backplate, gilt basket finials, ornate cast and gilt carrying handle, 6 1/2" dial with chapter ring with roman numerals and outer arabic numerals, date aperture at 12' o clock,  gilt spandrels, pull cord repeat at hours and quarters, single bob pendulum. Some damaged to back of case on plinth, no fusee chain, now wire fitted, the winding holes are not inline on the dial, overall height 37cm.

Jack Pender (1918-1998) oil on canvas, 93cm x 72cm, framed, signed on reverse and also to image, known as 'Newlyn Fisherman'. Pender was born in Mousehole, Cornwall and taught at Plymouth Art School, he also showed his work at the Newlyn and Penwith Society through the late 1940’s.

Alex Mackenzie was Head of Fine Art at Plymouth College of Art from the 1960s to the 1980s. Ben Nicholson was a major influence. He also knew John Wells, Barbara Hepworth and other major St Ives painters well. He had numerous exhibitions in museums from Cornwall to New York.
